Monitoring & Evaluation, Research and Learning

HEFDC specializes in conducting research and evaluation of country programs providing services in health; environment and climate change; and agriculture, with funding support from global agencies and donors to provide learning for:

Research

HEFDC has undertaken several national and one multi-country research/study, these are large and complex in nature, and apply mixed methods approach; and Quality Assurance of large Specialized Studies – TB Prevalence Survey. We continue to offer services for research in areas of:

  • health systems assessment;
  • social and economic impact studies in health;
  • Social and Environmental impact studies;
  • Vaccine and drugs clinical trials;
  • Program reviews.

Policy development and review

HEFDC is well equipped to provide these services based on our extensive experience gained from conducting National Research which have been approved by research oversight bodies and the National Bureau of Statistics, and were approved for use in the development of national policies. Additionally, we have reviewed and developed national strategic plans and policies. We continue to provide these services to various sectors at global and national levels.

Evaluation and learning for development of strategic plans and for re-programming

We have facilitated Formative, Mid-term and End Term evaluations; and used findings and recommendations generated to support development of strategic plans and re-programming. We continue to provide these Monitoring and Evaluation technical assistance services and  Health Inequities Monitoring: We generate and use Artificial Intelligence digital tools, geographical information system (GIS) and further advanced analysis and visualization tools to identify health disparities and generate findings and re-commendations for ensuring inclusive and responsive healthcare initiatives.

Quality Assurance (QA) of Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) systems, Data Quality Reviews (DQR/DQA) and data use

Through our QA work, we have generated credible findings that have been used by countries towards continual improvement of health systems and delivery of quality services in alignment with international and country standards. We continue to provide these services, including  assessment and mentoring  of use of Diseases’ Surveillance systems for improved targeted health services provision.

Quality of services and Cost Efficiency Assessments

We have assessed the quality of specialized health services provision in countries receiving support from various funding agencies; these findings and recommendations have been used for quality improvement. We continue to provide these services.
