Areas of Specialization

She is skilled and experienced in Applied Research, assessment and reinforcement of inclusion and diversity in Programs. In 2020, Nkirote was awarded pilot funding under Reproductive Health for Adolescents and Youth (RHAY) Project funded by Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Her innovation was to determine the effectiveness of peer led capacity building on the uptake of sexual reproductive health and rights services (SRHR) by Adolescent and Young Key Populations (AYKP), living in Kamukunjin sub-county, in Nairobi.

She is proficient in using participatory, people-centered, and inclusive evaluation methods including gender-sensitive, gender-responsive, and child friendly evaluation methods.

She is experienced in program evaluations and policy reviews; and development of strategic plans. Recently, in 2024, Nkirote was the gender and social protection expert in the End-Term Evaluation of the Kenya Nutrition Action Plan (KNAP) 2018-2023, on behalf of Ministry of Health (MoH) Division of Nutrition and Dietetics (DND) and UNICEF Kenya. She guided and reviewed the evaluation at all stages to ensure inclusiveness of all populations and groups. She was also the gender and social protection expert in the development of the KNAP 2023-2027.

She was the Programs Coordinator for the Akola Project, a Women empowerment program in Jinja, Uganda between 2015 and 2017. And as a Child protection expert. With Terre des Hommes in Dadaab refugee camp, Kenya.

She is also skilled and experienced in Management and Organization Development. And she was the team lead in facilitating a Human Resource Audit and in developing a salary scheme and Human Resource Manual for Kutoa Project in Marurui, Kiambu County, Kenya. And in November 2024, she supported a Human Resource Audit and development of Human Resource Manual for Canopy Life International in Thika, Kenya
