Dr. Okore Okorafor, based in South Africa holds a PhD in Health Economics, MSocSci Health Economics, and a BSc Economics. He is a health economist with more than 20 years of international experience working in a variety of institutions including academia, private sector and international development organizations. He has extensive experience in health system strengthening and health financing, especially in low- and middle-income country contexts. His key areas of expertise and interest include, but are not limited to the following:
• Health financing strategy and policy development
• Domestic resource mobilization
• Inter-governmental fiscal relations
• Analysis of equity in health financing
• Strategic purchasing of health care (reforms in provider payment mechanisms)
