
Parvex Mallick
M&E, Research, and disease Surveillance
Parvex Mallick, based in Bangladesh has two master’s degrees with dissertation. MPH (specialization in Epidemiology) and MSc in Statistics (with BSc honors) with specialization in Bio Statistics. He has 29 years of experience in Bangladesh and 13 Asia Pacific countries pre-dominantly in the public health domain. His areas of expertise and experience include:
• Qualitative and Quantitative Evaluation, Research and Surveillance; has made presentations at high level forums at national and international level.
• Health System Strengthening, Performance Framework, RBM (Results Based Monitoring), HMIS, M&E framework, performance management plan, Strategic plan, Data quality Audit (DQA).
• Capacity building in Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E), data analytics.
• Organizational Capacity needs assessment, development of Theory of Change/Logical Framework
• Preparation of policy documents/brief/infographics. Authored evaluation reports in Bangladesh and abroad. Presented research papers in different international conferences and published papers in international journal as co-author.
Both in Bangladesh and abroad, he has worked in the capacity of Senior Research and evaluation Advisor/specialists in different international NGOs (CARE, FHI/USAID, Save the Children-USA, GIZ); UN agencies (UNOPS, UNDP, UNICEF, UNAIDS, UNFPA) and multilateral agencies (World Bank, ADB).
Parvex has conducted Midterm, final evaluations/assessment in Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Philippines, Pakistan, Myanmar, Thailand and Nepal in the capacity of Team Lead as well as National Specialist, funded by GIZ, UNDP, UNAIDS/Global Fund, UNFPA, Royal Tropical Institutes/World Bank, Asian Development Bank, FCDO and USAID. He has extensive work experience with Government as well as NGOs and community and faith-based organizations in Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, Thailand, Pakistan, Kyrgyzstan, Marshall Islands, Myanmar, Malaysia, Nepal, New Caledonia, Philippines and Solomon Islands.
Parvex was the principal investigator for two successive rounds of National Behavioral Surveillance Survey for HIV in Bangladesh and provided Technical Assistance to other agencies in another two rounds. In 2020, he conducted quality assurance of Integrated Biological and Behavioral Surveillance study in Bangladesh.
