Alexander is a leading macroeconomist with over 20 years’ experience in monitoring and evaluation, covering projects in multiple sectors and countries Africa, research and project design management. Majority of his project work has been in Economic Development, Health, Agriculture, Environment and Poverty-related issues.

Alexander has worked with National Organizations such as the Ministry of Health and Programmes, NGOs, Civil Society Organizations (CSOs). He has also worked with donors such as USAID, DFID, SIDA, GIZ and World Bank and International Organizations such as Global Fund, GAVI, UNICEF, UNFPA, WHO Kenya, UNAIDS, WHO AFRO.

Master’s in Public Health (MPH), University of Nairobi – Kenya, a Certificate of Tropical Medicine Epidemiology and Biostatics, London School of Tropical Medicine and a Bachelor’s Degree in Dental Surgery, University of Nairobi.

James is a biostatistician and epidemiologist primarily involved in Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning (MERL), and health systems strengthening projects for regional and global health organizations working across Sub Saharan Africa.

His research interests are in the areas of statistical methodologies applicable to environmental epidemiology, social epidemiology, and health disparities. My areas of work at HEFDC cover research, monitoring and evaluation systems strengthening and capacity building for institutions, and health program reviews.

M.Sc. Epidemiology at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM); B.Sc. Biochemistry & Molecular Biology at the University of Minnesota; Postgraduate training in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, from the University of California San Diego.
