Geospatial Technologies, population estimates, and Data Analytics and Data Use
Wellington holds an MPH (Epidemioloy, Biostatistics and Disease Control); BSc (Ed) (Math, Chemistry and Computer); and has a Graduate Diploma in Project Management.
Geospatial Data & Technologies for population Estimates, Disease Modelling From 2019, he has worked as a Technical specialist-Population and Development with UNFPA south Sudan – Geo-referenced infrastructure and demographic data for Development –GRID3 Project.
He conducted Statistical Data analysis & use, quality assurance and Population Modelling which involved support to the Statistical office in:
- periodic data analysis from Surveys and report writing to inform the Government of South Sudan; population modelling and Population Projection using Spectrum, Padis, Stata, R;
- spatial data cleaning for preparation to fit in Population Model;
- Sub national analysis by the use of Small Area Population Estimation Survey conducted, and wrote the Modelled Population estimates report 2022 to inform the country on the current population, aggregated by state, Age, Sex and other key variables;
- operationalization of data quality assurance and Audit in all surveys conducted by NBS and UNFPA, which included the PES, and GBV.
Data Analytics and Use: Wellington was between 2015-2019, the HIV Information Consultant-UNICEF Kenya. He was responsible for HIV Data analysis & use, quality assurance and HIV Modelling in Kenya. He accomplished planning for Researches, Impact Monitoring, and Evaluations. He ensured that the UNICEF Country Office and national partners had timely and accurate measurement of change in conditions at the national and County levels, including both monitoring of HIV trends and through spectrally specific management information systems (e.g. DHIS,EID ,Viral load, TB Tibu System).
Data Analytics and Data Use: He was the Continuous Quality Program Improvement Expert for ICAP, Nairobi, Kenya, between 2013 and 2015.
He was responsible for M&E, this involved:
- Analyzing qualitative and quantitative data from EMR (CPAD, Open-MRS) systems and Clinical studies Scientifically for Cohort data using SPSS, SAS and STATA;
- Data presentation using Tableau Software or Ms Excel pivot tables for tables, charts and graphs for assessments and evaluations in line with data analysis plans.
- Monitoring & Evaluation : Between 2012 and 2013: Wellington was the Senior Monitoring & Evaluation Associate with the ICF International (AFYAINFO HMIS Project), Nairobi, Kenya
