Teddy Atim

Senior Specialist - Gender, AGYW and Equality mainstreaming & Programming

Teddy Atim, from Uganda holds a B.A. in Social Sciences from Makerere University, Kampala, M.A. in Humanitarian Assistance from The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy and the Friedman School Science and Policy, and an interdisciplinary Ph.D., in International Development from Wageningen University, The Netherlands. She has a practice and research background in humanitarian, recovery and development contexts. Her work focuses on the gendered impact of conflict, fragility and other forms of vulnerabilities on women, men, boys and girls and what it teaches us about the continuum of violence and structural inequalities. Samples of some of the work she has done include:

  • In 2023/2024, Teddy was the South Sudan lead, of the Rapid assessments of the hunger-conflict-climate nexus for Action Against Hunger (AAH) in South Sudan, Mali and Somalia; funded by the Overseas Development Institute (ODI).
  • In 2020, she was the Evaluator, of the final programme evaluation of safe spaces and enabling environments for women and girl survivors of sexual and gender-based violence in northern Uganda | Foundation for Women Affected by Conflict (FOWAC) / Medica Mondiale; funded by GIZ
  • 2016 – 2017: Teddy was a Short-Term Technical Assistance (STTA) consultant to ensure gender equality and gender empowerment in implementation of SAFE northern (Counter LRA) Strategy; which included gender mainstreaming in their projects.
