Alex Maina is a Master of Philosophy graduate in Environmental Management from the University of Cape Town (South African), Sociology degree from Egerton University and a an international internship with Swiss Federal Institute , Switzerland. He has over 20 years’ experience in managing different aspects of Environment and Social programs using national and international policies and guidelines. In addition, He is a Kenyan licensed environmental and social impact assessor and environmental auditor. His expertise focuses on the interplay of climate change, sustainable development, and Sociology with applications to the fields of climate change impacts, environmental equity, and Social work, Health, Water and Sanitation.

Alex is an experienced Climate Change Expert with a solid track record in management consulting and advancing the national climate agenda. Areas of expertise include training Adaptation and Mitigation Strategies. He is a member of Center for climate change and sustainable development, Pan African Climate Justice Alliance, National Environment Civil Society Alliance of Kenya, Kenya Forests Working Group, Kenya Wetlands Forum,
