Description

This was a five-year grant making and capacity building programme for Civil Societies Organizations (CSOs) to implement HIV/AIDS related projects which was implemented by AMREF and funded by SIDA. The pprogramme was designed to ensure sustained reduction in incidence of HIV/AIDS in the Lake Victoria region; covering the target 20 districts in Nyanza and Western provinces.

A midterm evaluation was conducted by HEFDC to provide the basis for adjustments of strategies and planned activities during the following phase of the programme implementation.

Evaluation of the Poverty Eradication Commission (PEC)/Ministry of Planning Kenya with funding from UNDP

Description

HEFDC was contracted by the PEC to undertake the baseline and final evaluation of projects implemented by the PEC.

  • This was an external evaluation of the Poverty Eradication Commission programmes
  • A mixed method approach was used to assess the effectiveness of programming by the poverty eradication commission and the ministry of planning in Kenya.
  • The review involved the evaluation of the National Poverty Eradication Programme (NPEC) and design an integrated M&E Framework for monitoring and evaluation of National Strategic Plan for phase II of NPEC within the Vision 2030 MTP 2008-2012 framework.
